About Core Tutor
Where every student is known.
Core Tutoring Center is a neighborhood learning center for grades 1–12. We pair every student with a tutor who learns how they think, then builds a plan around it, from first reading skills to SHSAT, SAT and Regents prep.
Our mission is simple: help every student understand, not just memorize, and leave every session a little more confident.
Our Story
A neighborhood center, since 2008
Core Tutoring Center started with a simple idea: students do their best work when someone takes the time to understand how they learn. Since 2008 we've grown from a handful of students around a kitchen-sized table into a full learning center, without losing that one-on-one attention.
Today our tutors teach every core subject from grade 1 through high school, prepare students for the SHSAT, SAT and Regents, and keep parents in the loop with regular progress check-ins. Many of our families have been with us for years, with younger siblings following the older ones through our door.
We're not a franchise chain. We're a local team that knows every student by name, and that is exactly how we plan to stay.
